LOS ANGELES AGENTS, MANAGERS AND CASTING DIRECTOR COMING TO THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS

IMPRESSIVE LIST OF LOS ANGELES TALENT AGENTS
COMING TO THE WOODLANDS

Nikki Pederson is hosting an acting workshop and consortium for anyone 13 and older, who want to know more about becoming an actor or advancing an acting career to another level. She is bringing to The Woodlands eight top Los Angeles agents, managers, and casting directors. These guest agents and managers have cultivated the careers of many young actors. They represent talent such as Haley Joel Osment (Sixth Sense, Pay it Forward), Tiffany Thornton (Sonny With a Chance), Brian Geraghty (The Hurt Locker), Emmy winner Jaime Pressly (My Name is Earl), Paul Walker, Adam Goldberg, Luke Evans, Kevin Pollack, Steven Moyer (True Blood), Mischa Barton (The O.C.), David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place), Dianna Agron & Mark Salling (Glee), Sarah Roemer (Disturbia), Rhys Coiro (24/Entourage), Alicia Ziegler (Cold Case, Old Christine, Shark, Wildfire) Kevin McCorkle (The Island, Cold Case, Company Town), Nikki Tyler-Flynn (King Of Queens / Stuck On You), Matthew Florida ( Days of Our Lives) and so many more….

For Nikki Pederson, the key word is “opportunity”. “I’ve arranged for these industry leaders to be here. The rest is up to the individual who hopes to someday work in a big market to seize this learning opportunity.” This workshop is open to beginners to the highly skilled advance actors. Those who participate will spend quality time studying with professionals who are instrumental in developing the careers of today's film and television celebrities!

They will work on scenes from plays and films, participate in mock auditions, as well as do various acting exercises chosen specifically for each individual. Nikki says, there will be a great deal of time for question and answers sessions. “This will be the time to ask questions like, ‘How do you get an agent?’ ‘How do you get into casting offices?’ ‘How do you find out what is being cast now, and who is doing it?’ It’s a great opportunity to get the facts and get to the truth! And of course, It’s also a great time to network with respected agents and managers in the industry!”

Nikki Pederson a Texas native who moved to The Woodlands five years ago, has been on the inside of the glamorous world of fashion, modeling and pageants for most of her adult life. Pederson was area director of the Miss Texas USA pageant from 1991 to 1997 and worked as a professional makeup artist whose clients included former President George H.W. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and model Ivana Trump. She has acted in local and regional theatre and television commercials and directed the Bridal Extravaganza Fashion Show in Texas A&M University’s Reed Arena for six years.

11 years ago, Pederson decided to use all that experience by motivating young people to make their dreams come true and started Nikki Pederson Talent and became a Director for the International Model and Talent Association. She describes herself as a “talent facilitator…a consultant…a mentor… one who brings all the right players together to create success.” Pederson goes on to say, “My ultimate goal is to place models and talent that are ready to move to the next level of their career with a top agent. I am not an agent. That is not my desire. I have spent the past 15 years building professional relationships with agents in the Los Angeles and New York markets. I work with agencies that are not in the business of selling classes and photos, but in the full time business of sending talent out for auditions. I also audit acting classes, looking for coaches who really care about the talent’s individual skills, progress and confidence.”

Pederson adds that she wants to be a “safe and honest” mentor that talent can go to for advice. “Many of the kids that come to me for advice, are green…lacking a lot of experience.” Pederson says, “Some of them think that good looks are all they need. Good looks may get you in the door, but if you don’t have anything to back them up with, you won’t succeed.” I tell them they have to Get up! Show up! And Stay!” Nikki says that’s why she frequents community theatre productions, talent shows and acting classes to find serious hopefuls, “Because those actors are showing up! They want it! You can want something really bad, but if you don’t show up to participate…if you don’t show up to work for it…then you don’t want it bad enough! Although, she adds, “I won’t lie…every once in a while I’ll meet someone without any formal training or experience, which has an amazing personality, …someone with that “it” factor. But, even then, I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t have to study hard and study smart to become a truly great actor.”

Seems Nikki has a good track record. Many of her Texas protégés are making it big in film and stage today. “I discovered Tiffany Thornton in College Station. She is now a Disney star on Sonny With a Chance”. Raini Rodriguez who played Kevin James’ daughter on last summer’s number one hit movie Paul Blart – Mall Cop is from Bryan. Matthew Florida, from Bremont, re-occurred on Days of Our Lives for 2 years and has had many guest appearances on other television shows. Last week he booked the lead role in a new television show. Then there’s Caitlyn Taylor Love, from Harlingen, who co-stars as Izzy on Disney’s I’m In the Band. And look for Caitlyn to be releasing her first album soon…she is an amazing singer! Oh, and there’s Molly Montgomery, from Bryan. She is now a stage actress in New York. Some her theatrical roles include Cassiopeia in Aftertaste at the American Globe Theatre, Michelle in Five Percent at the Red Room, and Ingrid Bergman in In Private: A Night with Hollywood Icons. Currently, she is finishing writing her one women show which will open in the fall in New York City.”

For quality purposes this workshop has a very limited enrollment. Anyone interested in participating in this workshop and consortium must contact Nikki Pederson at 979-229-8740 for more information and registration.
